WELCOME TO DE LA BAHIA
We are located in Stuart, Florida off of Kanner Hwy just south of Monterey Road in Martin County. This 55+ waterfront yachting community lies on the shore of the south fork of the Saint Lucie River. From your slip you can go anywhere. Leaving de la Bahia by boat, when you get to the main channel go left and follow the channel markers all the way through Lake Okeechobee to Ft. Myers and the Gulf of Mexico. If you go right at the main channel markers, you have access to the inland water way which can take you north towards Georgia or south to the Florida Keys. But if you want, you can just head east to the Bahamas. By car you are approximately 40 minutes north of West Palm Beach (for great Golfing), 100 miles north of Miami (party time), and 140 miles south of Orlando (Disney World, Universal Studios, Cape Kennedy). We are also conveniently located near many restaurants, stores, beaches, parks, nature trails, medical facilities and most important Boating facilities.
Our condominium complex is made up of 303 units, with 231 boat slips, clubhouse, and more.
Our active adult community offers residents a low-maintenance, small town, friendly community lifestyle.
Real Estate
de La Bahia was developed between 1972 and 1973. As previous mentioned we have 303 condo units. There are 25, two story buildings, labeled A -Y with 12 units per building. There is 1, one story building, labeled Z with 3 units (this was the model building). Split between these 26 buildings there are 101 large 2 bedroom, 2 bath units, 101 small 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath units, and 101, 1 bedroom 1 ½ bath units. Each unit comes with one assigned parking space. If a unit has 2 cars the second car can be parked in "overflow" spots by some buildings that are unmarked or in the "overflow" parking areas between Buildings C and D and across from Buildings T and U. There are also parking spaces specifically reserved for Guests. (note: There are vehicle size restrictions) One of the most unique features of de la Bahia is our 231 deeded boat slips (dock). A slip (dock) is assigned to its unit just like a parking space. It can't be traded, sold, rented, loaned or given away. It belongs to its assigned unit. If that unit is a rental, the slip(dock) goes with the rental. There is a small monthly dock (slip) fee charged to each unit that owns a boat slip (dock). This Dock (slip) fee is paid monthly with the Association fee. (currently for 2023 Dock (slip) fees are $15.)
Amenities
Our Clubhouse is the centerpiece of all our activities. Inside we have a Game / Library / meeting room, a Billiards room with 2 full size Brunswick tables, a full size Bar, which everyone gathers at before dances, after golf, monthly Ladies Night, and of course after the Thursday, all volunteer residents, work crew, that keeps our association fees way down. Our main office is located just to the left of the main entrance. We also have in the Clubhouse a full size galley (kitchen for land lovers), next to our ballroom that has a stage, dance floor (with a crystal ball), and dinning area for over a hundred people. Outside behind the Clubhouse we have a large heated/cooled saltwater swimming pool with a Tiki Hut along with tables and lounge chairs. Outside of the pool fence we have 2 shuffleboard courts. We also have changing rooms with showers. Up stairs we have 2 barbecues and a eating area for small parties. All units at de La Bahia can take part in the variety of clubs and activities offered by the community, including bingo, dinner dances, mahjong, card games, board games, fitness classes, knitting and stitching, shuffleboard, as well as a golf and bowling league. Residents are also able to join the community yacht club.
Yacht Club
de la Bahia has been the home for the de la Bahia Yacht Club since 1979. You DON'T need to own a boat to join. For a low yearly dues you can enjoy (during high season Nov. to Apr.) monthly meetings with guest speakers, dinner dances, picnics, raft ups, outings, a yearly Cruise, and a great Meet & Greet barbecue pool party in January. (2023 dues are $20.00 per person)
Maintenance
Residents enjoy a low-maintenance lifestyle thanks to a self-governed Condominium Association that takes care of common area maintenance, exterior maintenance, cable TV, landscaping, roof maintenance, water/sewer and trash removal.
